Police appeal after arson attacks
Police in Exmouth are appealing for information following an arson in the town.
Detectives in Exmouth are investigating an arson that occurred at a multi occupancy property on Exeter Road in Exmouth, between 11:15pm and 11:30pm on Saturday 12 September.
The property is located on the smaller part of Exeter Road near the shops – not far from the junction with the main A396 Exeter Road.
Damage was caused after a wooden front door was set alight.
Nobody was injured following fire which was extinguished quickly.
Two local men, aged 25 and 24 years have been arrested on suspicion of causing arson with intent to endanger life, and released on bail until 18 November pending further enquiries.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who has any information concerning this incident, or anyone who was in the area at the time, to contact them.
They are also asking for anyone who saw persons purchasing or carrying petrol in containers in the area to contact them.

In a separate incident, detectives are appealing for witnesses after some beach huts were deliberately set on fire in Dawlish.
Police were called by the fire service at around 1.45am on Wednesday 16 September following reports of seven beach huts on fire at Boat Cove. The beach huts, owned by Teignbridge District Council, were completely destroyed as a result of the fire.
Police are carrying out an investigation into the arson.
