Exeter gym fundraiser for Hospiscare
Exeter Golf and Country Club gym members have raised over £100 for Hospiscare in the first of their year-long programme of fund-raising events.
The gym held the Six Nations Circuits Challenge earlier this month for the Club President’s charity of the year.
Personal Trainer and Gym Manager, Helen Kukor said, “On behalf of all the Gym Team I would like to say a big thank you and well done to all the people who took part in the Six Nations Charity event. The event was a resounding success with lots of members taking part and overwhelming support from our other club members.”
Ali Dee Shapland and Graham Smith topped the ladies’ and men’s leader boards, each winning a two course Sunday lunch for two in the club’s Wear Park Restaurant.
The event consisted of a seven exercise circuit to be completed in the fastest time possible.
Club President, Hilary Weatherley, was thrilled that so much money was raised for his chosen charity Hospiscare and said,
“Thank you so much to all those who took part, all those who kindly donated money and of course Helen and her team who organised the event so well. We have lots of exciting events to raise funds and awareness for Hospiscare this year. We held a Comedy Night last month, the Rock Solid Race takes place in March and we are lucky to have Steve Knightley and friends performing here in June.”
The next event is the Rock Solid Race at Escot on Saturday 15th March. Exeter Golf and Country Club have entered two teams consisting of members and staff.
Helen continued, “We are looking forward to the Rock Solid Race and training is taking place to make sure we all get round the course. Our teams have people with varying levels of fitness so it really will be a huge challenge for some participants!”
