Mixtape Pop-up Cinema: Hi-fi for The Eyes
On Wednesday 10 December Bill Douglas Cinema Museum is launching a pop-up cinema event with five exhibitions in diverse themes held by MA students in International Film Business from University of Exeter.
Pop-up cinema is in the air. As one of the most influential Exeter local museums, it is the second time in 2014 for the Bill Douglas Cinema Museum to hold a pop-up cinema event which will create a bigger impact to the local film and other creative industry.
The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum is home to one of the largest collections of material on the moving image in Britain. Both an accredited public museum and academic research facility, it has a collection of over 75,000 items. 1,000 items are on display in our Galleries.
This pop-up cinema event combines strong cultural features with a new MA student project from University of Exeter, helping to promote the development of local creative industry, and in the meanwhile, making a contribution to educational methods as a fresh and innovative attempt.
The Mixtape exhibition is the first and most appealing screening of the pop-up cinema event, presenting a collection of eye-catching short films in mixed media, showcasing possibilities of work beyond celluloid alone, and featuring Oscar nominees, film festival winners, underground gems, and avant garde short films. The Mixtape selective screening is outstanding in that it will redefine the potential value of the pop-up cinema event by offering new possibilities of future trends on such events.
The attendees will include film professionals, entertainment industry practitioners, and students of the creative majors.
The Mixtape exhibition has limited tickets, so please email us to reserve a ticket as soon as possible. Mixtape exhibition, Hi-fi for the eyes!
