Exeter law firm Browne Jacobson has promoted education lawyer Victoria McIntosh to associate as part of its annual round of associate promotions.

Victoria advises schools and academies on a range of education law issues. These include school governance, academy and trust school conversions and student related matters, especially those which are, or are likely to become, contentious including admissions, discipline, exclusions, special educational needs, discrimination claims and parent complaints. Victoria is also chair of governors of a maintained special school, a governor of a nursery and infants’ school and trustee of a cooperative learning trust.

Victoria is one of 14 associate promotions announced by Browne Jacobson.
The other promotions were in the firm’s Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham offices.

The promotions follow on from a stellar 12 months for Browne Jacobson in which the firm posted a record turnover of £50.2m, expanded its presence in the London market with a significant move to new premises at 6 Bevis Marks in the City’s corporate and financial district and was rated ‘exceptional in their delivery of client service by Investor in Customers (IIC), making it the first law firm in the country to receive such an accolade.

The promotions will take effect from 1st May 2015 and will bring the firm’s total number of associates to 88.

Senior Partner Derek Bambury commented on the promotions:

“All 14 are wholly deserving of their promotions having excelled in their specialist field, contributed to the firm’s outstanding growth and delivered exceptional client service.

“We have an excellent track record in enabling young talented lawyers to progress with their careers and we look forward to seeing them build on this momentum in years to come.”
