Electrical fire at Ivor Doble's Sidwell Street shop
Three fire appliances, despatched from Danes Castle and Middlemoor, were called to reports of a fire at the Ivor Doble jewellery store on Sidwell street at approximately 2pm today.
A spokesman said: "The fire crews extinguised the electrical fire using dry powder, isolated the electrics and cut away the exposed charred woodwork. The fire was due to an electrical fault within the 'L' of the flourescent 'IVOR DOBLE' sign at the front of the shop."
Staff were advised to get the electrics checked out before reopening.
The Watch Master in charge was Ian Treadwell.
