The Lodge Exeter receives Platinum care award

The Lodge, part of the Elizabeth Finn portfolio of UK care homes, has recently received Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Reaccreditation Platinum status.

The GSF Award, which recognises health and social care providers delivering quality care in the final year of life, was presented at the Gold Standards Framework Conference and Awards ceremony on October 7th in London.

The GSF Centre provides expert training which once completed and embedded into practice, means homes can apply for Accreditation which lasts for three years.  At the end of the three years, organisations need to apply for Re-Accreditation and those achieving this are awarded Platinum status.

The Lodge is one of around 45 UK care homes, hospitals, hospices, primary care practices, retirement villages, and domiciliary care agencies, that received the prestigious GSF Platinum quality hallmark, confirming their ongoing commitment to providing the very best end of life care, allowing residents to live out the remainder of their lives to the fullest.

Located close to the centre of Exeter, The Lodge is an elegant Victorian house standing in an acre of landscaped gardens and offers a home from home for discerning guests who appreciate comfort, quality and exceptional care.  The 58 ensuite bedrooms and 2 suites offer personal or nursing care on a permanent or short stay basis, as well as offering end of life care.

General Manager of The Lodge, Deborah Skinner said: “The last two years have been an incredibly difficult time for all health and social care providers and taking the time to complete their GSF accreditation is to be commended for any provider. I am very proud of our amazing team who have worked so hard to retain this amazing accolade.  Good quality end of life care has never been more important.”
