On Tuesday 4th October, the second annual Boutique Hotelier Awards, took place on the first night of the Independent Hotel Show at The Chelsea Harbour Hotel in London. The glittering awards ceremony, which celebrated the country’s best hotels and spas, was attended by over 300 prominent hoteliers and restauranteurs and saw Michael Caines’ MBE luxury manor house hotel in Devon, Lympstone Manor pick up the ultimate accolade, Boutique Hotel of the Year 2022.
The award, which saw five finalists battle it out, celebrates Lympstone Manor’s innovation and resilience across the last 12 months, acknowledging the hard work made to improve facilities, retain, and attract valuable staff and grow the businesses. This recognition for Lympstone Manor is therefore truly momentous.
Speaking about this achievement, Michael Caines MBE, Chef and Owner of Lympstone Manor said: ‘We are delighted to have been awarded Boutique Hotel of the Year, an award made even more special by the act it voted for by the readers. All the team here at Lympstone Manor have worked incredibly hard to achieve this award and it’s a real credit to them and the progress that we have made since opening back 2017’
Opening to critical acclaim in 2017, Lympstone Manor is the result of Michael’s long-awaited dream. The Grade II listed Georgian Manor house was creatively and comprehensively transformed into a contemporary country house hotel. Within six months of opening the hotel was awarded a Michelin Star, and since then Michael has continued to drive the hotel forward with his passion, dedication, and his love for food and creating exceptional experiences, earning the hotel membership to Relais and Châteaux and achieving 5 AA Rosettes.
Michael has constantly strived to improve the guest experience across the property, whilst developing and creating an amazing place for his team to thrive and develop. Recent additions to Lympstone Manor include six woodland setting Shepherd Huts, a new tennis court, outdoor heated pool, casual dining Pool House Restaurant and Bar, and an established vineyard featuring 17,500 vines, planted in 2018 with the aim of making some of the finest English sparkling wine in Devon, due to launch in 2023, whilst the Triassic Pinot Noir, named after the ancient stretch of coastline on which the vineyard has been planted launched in 2022.
