Totnes Young Farmers continue to rasie incredible funds for local charities

Throughout the last 12 months, Totnes Young Farmers with its 65 members have been busy raising a colossal £22,000 for two brilliant charities; Devon Air Ambulance and Cystic Fibrosis.

Whether it is a charity log chop, Christmas quiz, running wedding bars or a charity summer ball with an auction of promises, Totnes YFC have put together an astonishing £22,000 for donation to the two charities, Devon Air Ambulance and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Topsham’s residents and visitors don’t have to wait until December 25 to enjoy a wonderful day - there are plenty of them happening in the next few weeks as the beautiful estuary town becomes a Christmas haven for all the family.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park is set to sink around £300,000 into an ambitious new green energy project – with the benefits being felt by both guests and the environment.

The family-owned park in will install a state-of-the-art solar energy system across various buildings in its grounds this winter.

Energy experts forecast that after the work is completed, Ladram Bay will be preventing a massive 171 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually from entering the atmosphere.

It is illegal to burn most types of waste and setting fire to treated wood, tyres, plastics, rubber and oil can seriously harm health and pollute the environment.

What an informative and moving morning had by all at Cranbrook Education Campus.

The Exeter Dementia Action Alliance (EDAA) spent the morning at Cranbrook raising dementia awareness and inspiring action.

Sara and Barrie Carless who are living with dementia accompanied Gina Awad, Lead of the alliance as they delivered Dementia Friends sessions reaching 75 8-11 year olds. This was followed by an assembly presentation by Gina to the secondary students illustrating the work of the alliance and future visits to Cranbrook.
