EXPERTS at a Devon domiciliary care company are offering people in the county advice on avoiding the onset of dementia this month (June 2019).

Guardian Homecare, which provides home care in Exeter and Torbay, is sharing its tips after Alzheimer’s Research UK revealed one percent of UK adults are unable to name known risk factors for dementia.

D-Day Veteran to take part in Exeter’s Armed Forces Day

One of the last surviving D-Day veterans will take part in Armed Forces Day in Exeter tomorrow (Saturday 22 June).

Ottery St Mary coffee shop Tickety-Boo is offering a free cream tea to customers for one week only.

The offer is in support of Exeter Leukemia Fund’s ELF Cream Tea which is held throughout June each year.

A riot of colour has broken out across the city, with wild flowers coming into bloom as part of the Wild City Project.

Animal experts at Paignton Zoo have been battling around the clock to save a sick primate.

Keepers, vets and vet nurses responded swiftly when female orang utan Gambira was taken ill suddenly and sat with her long into the night after emergency surgery.

Urgent repairs on River Exe Viaduct near Tiverton

Overnight road closures will be needed on the A361 near Tiverton next week to carry out urgent structural repairs on the River Exe Viaduct.

An expansion joint at the eastern end of the viaduct, near Bolham roundabout, is failing and needs to be replaced as soon as possible.

The A361 will be closed overnight between Bolham and Ashmill for two nights on Wednesday 26 June and Thursday 27 June from 7pm to 7am for the repairs to be carried out. If the work is not completed in two evenings, an overnight closure is also provisionally booked for the evening of Friday 28 June....
