Tithebarn Lane closed ahead of new M5 bridge installation

A new pedestrian and cycle bridge is due to be installed over the M5 motorway at Exeter, just north of Junction 29, next week. The structure, which will be next to the existing overbridge at Tithebarn Lane, is expected to be lifted in overnight on Saturday 18 November. To enable the lift to take place, the M5 will need to be closed between Junction 28 and 29, from 8pm to 8am. On Friday 3rd November, the Exeter Dementia Action Alliance (EDAA) were invited to be a part of the EMG Symphony Orchestra’s 50th Anniversary as their selected community group for the retiring collection.

The public may hold the vital clue to find the killer of 14-year-old Exwick schoolgirl Kate Bushell 20 years ago and bring them to justice, say detectives.

Devon and Cornwall Police has launched a major public appeal for information on the 20th anniversary of Kate’s murder as part of an investigative review into her death.

Kate, a bright and popular girl, was killed on Saturday 15 November 1997 as she walked a neighbour’s dog near her home in Exwick. Her body was found in a field off Exwick Lane by her father. She had sustained a brutal knife wound to her throat.

Fire crews battle Exeter factory blaze

Fire Control received two calls from on-site staff at a factory on Kestrel Way, Exeter, reporting that alarms had activated and there was a fire in the casting plant within the foundry section of the factory.

The blaze started at around 1.26am today (SATURDAY) at Arconic on Sowton Industrial Estate.

Mihangelf Promotions is a new music promotions enterprise in South Devon putting on live music, primarily at the Unit 23 Live venue in Totnes, formerly South Devon Arts Centre, a short hop away on the train or down the A38.

The enterprise is run by music lover Mike Fraser who lives local to Totnes.
