CEDA Charity launch new Mini Bus

Members of Devon based disability charity CEDA gathered at the charities base in Exeter to celebrate the arrival of their new accessible minibus. CEDA users, charity supporters, fundraisers and members of the staff team gathered to witness the parents of former CEDA user Greg Hurford cut the ribbon to mark the official launch of the new minibus. CEDA CEO Renata Colley said: “We are all thrilled with the new minibus – it’s going to make enabling our users to access our many services easier and more reliable. It will give us much more freedom.”

Property design and management consultants, NPS South West Ltd., held an event at Exeter Castle to celebrate 10 years of working in the South West. Part of the NPS Group, the South West Office based in Exeter, employs over 70 staff and offers a multi-discipline property consultancy service, tailored to meet the needs of both public and private sector clients. Oakdown Touring and Holiday Caravan Park on the East Devon coast is celebrating reaching the top three in the ‘Holiday Park of the Year’ category of the Devon Tourism Awards.

Yarcombe Young Farmers support Exeter’s Neonatal Unit

The Yarcombe and District Young Farmers Club (YFC) have donated £1,000 to the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help support their work caring for poorly babies and their families.

The club selected the unit as one of their chosen charities for the year because of the specialist support it provides for people from their local community. They also chose to support the Neonatal Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and children’s charity Over the Wall - raising £3,000 in total for their three charities, to be divided equally between them.

The shortlist for the Devon Environmental Business Initiative (DEBI) 25th Anniversary Awards has been announced.

Over 50 entries were received for the awards, which celebrate green initiatives taking place across the county.

DEBI Chair, John Smith from Brightsea Print Group said: “We were pleased to have such a wide range of Devon businesses and organisations enter this year.

Jack Yeandle says he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates will need to “rise to the challenge” when they tackle Montpellier in Sunday’s European Champions Cup fixture.
