Police are investigating after a car was deliberately set on fire in a Plymouth pub car park. An unknown accelerant was poured over the front of the black Seat Ibiza Cupra and the vehicle set alight. The bonnet and the front inside of the vehicle were burnt out and the windscreen destroyed. The car was parked at the Windmill Inn at Leigham when the attack happened some time between 9am on Sunday 3 March and 3am on Monday 4 March. Police are treating the incident as arson and are appealing to anyone who has information to contact them on 101, quoting crime reference EL/13/876.

Offenders put the lives of police officers at risk by tampering with road signs on a blind bend near Honiton. The culprits dragged two large temporary triangular warning signs and sandbags into the middle of the A30 near Yarcombe in the early hours of Saturday (2 March). Research from the universities of Plymouth and Cardiff found people with physical or psychological disabilities or long-term illness reported higher rates of 21 types of ill-treatment than did other workers. This included higher levels of physical and verbal abuse from managers and colleagues, but also from customers and clients they came into contact with.
