The Coca-Cola Truck Tour kicked off the countdown to Christmas in Exeter today.

For millions of people, the sight of the famous Coca-Cola Christmas advertisement hails the beginning of the festive season.

And despite the wet weather, Bedford Square was transformed into a snowy winter wonderland from 1pm to 9pm complete with Christmas trees and festive helpers on hand to serve chilled Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero, and the Coca-Cola brass band will be leading a selection of seasonal carols in the magical setting.

Property businesses in the South West are maintaining a bullish approach towards investment opportunities, with a quarter (25 per cent) intending to increase their financial investments over the next three to six months, according to a recent survey by Lloyds TSB Commercial.

Whilst an intention to invest is positive news in an otherwise flat property market, overall the latest ‘Property Matters’ report found that small to medium sized property businesses in the South West are continuing to face challenges across the sector, including a lack of confidence around issues such as local...

3D printing is everywhere. Watching television just this week I saw Will-i-am’s new music video Scream and Shout ft Britney Spears, which includes a section of the 3D printing in action, building a human face before the viewers’ eyes. With the media picking up on this exciting new method it is clear 3D printing is bursting onto the scene and is becoming ever more popular.

What’s more, Exeter is a centre for developing this 3D printing. Exeter Phoenix’s annual Digital Art Commission has partnered up with University of Exeter’s Centre for Additive layer Manufacturing (CALM) to bring...

When it comes to giant gorillas, Exeter is beating Torbay.

The Great Gorillas Project, marking Paignton Zoo’s 90th birthday, is stimulating rivalry between Exeter and Torbay – and right now, Exeter is on top.

Paignton Zoo has more than 20 corporate sponsors for its striking Great Gorillas sculptures and has had submissions from artists across the country eager to paint the 3D giants – but organisers report that both businesses and artists in Torbay have been slow to sign up.

Pippa Craddock, Director of Marketing & Development for Paignton Zoo, said: “There is...

Jump racing stars to line up at Exeter Racecourse

A plethora of jump racing stars are set to line up in the re-routed The Levy Board Peterborough Chase, which takes place at Exeter on Thursday (Dec 20th).

David Bridgewater has no fears about the step back in trip for The Giant Bolster, saying: “He won very easily over 2m5f at Cheltenham when he won the Murphy Group Chase so I’m sure he’ll be fine. But you never know until you run them. He’s very well at home and he’s come on from his race at Haydock. I’m very please with him and I’m delighted that Exeter is staging the race.”

The seven-year-old was a two and a quarters of...
