Fire crews rescue two trapped after A38 road collision

The A38 at Haldon Hill in Kennford, which was partially blocked with queueing traffic at Splatford Split because of an earlier accident has now cleared.

The Fire Service reported receiving calls requesting its attendance for a Road Traffic Collision in the above area. Two Fire appliances from Danes castle and One Fire appliance from Middlemoor attended the incident.

On arrival, Fire crews confirmed two vehicles were involved in the collision with two persons trapped within the vehicles.

Exeter City exorcised the demons of last April by running out 3-2 winners against Rochdale at Spotland.

After an even opening encounter, quick-fire goals by Pat Baldwin and John O’Flynn suddenly put the Grecians in the driving seat. A new Junior Futsal course is being launched in Exeter, giving young footballers in the city a chance to hone their football skills in the fast-paced indoor game. Exeter City Football Club is running the new course for children aged 7 – 14 over four weekly sessions in November and December, beginning on Friday 11th January.

Devon flood investigations to help bid for funding

Devon County Council has announced that it will be bidding for a share of a £5 million fund announced by Defra to improve flood prevention.

The two-year pilot scheme, Flood Resilience Community Pathfinder, will provide up to 20 communities with grants for flood risk management to improve resilience to flooding in communities across the country.
