The Maynard School's popular Christmas Craft Fair takes place in the school gym on Saturday 24 November 2012 from 10am until 1pm. There will be plenty of stalls selling photography and prints, personalised aprons, Christmas wreaths and decorations, homemade jams and preserves, locally made pottery and vintage jewellery. Bric-a-brac, a teddy tombola and a toy stall will also be on offer and raffle tickets can be bought to win prizes such as a £100 John Lewis voucher, two return Flybe flights, champagne afternoon tea at Magdalen Chapter and a luxury Darts Farm hamper. Exeter-based PR consultant Glen King made a passionate appeal to local businesses at the Business Network (SW) November lunch to raise much-needed funds and support for the local charity Surf Life Saving GB, which was left homeless following a fire at their City centre office. Since the blaze on the 2nd November, Glen has been actively offering her PR services for free to help promote the plight of Surf Life Saving GB to gain public support. Once again, arts education charity Daisi will be drawing on its team of more than 150 professional artists and its links with schools across the county to put together a very special project, which is part of a longer-term partnership with Exeter Northcott Theatre.
In all, this exhibition will show the work of children between the ages of five and eleven from several schools across Devon, exploring the story and recreating the magical world of The Snail and the Whale .

Tall Stories, creators of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom , bring their latest production, The Snail and the Whale , to the theatre for a festive run from 12th-30th December.
This charming play of bravery tells the story of a tiny snail who longs to see the world and hitches a lift on the tail of a humpback whale. What an adventure the pair embark upon, as they journey together across the seas.
