Devon’s food and drink scene has never been more vibrant and at Monday night’s annual Food & Drink Devon Awards the pinnacle of the county’s food and drink producers, hospitality and catering businesses and speciality retailers were celebrated. The ceremony, which took place on Monday 10th October at Deer Park Country House Hotel, was hosted by food and drink broadcaster and BBC Radio 2's Nigel Barden.

Exeter has won recognition at a number of influential awards ceremonies.

Local authorities Exeter City Council and Teignbridge District Council were singled out for their role in putting on the highly successful BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend at Powderham Castle.

Working in partnership, the two councils won the Tourism Event of the Year Award at the English Riviera and South Devon Tourism and Hospitality Awards.

Tom Bonfield, of Hillside Product Design of Teignmouth, has been shortlisted as a finalist for The National Plastics Industry Awards 2016 Young Designer of the Year award.
