Every Spring and Autumn Freemasons from around Devon meet to give support totalling in excess of £50,000 to local charities & organisations throughout the county who are in need of assistance, “SENSE” the Charity for the Deafblind who are based in Exeter & Newton Abbot were one of the groups who were nominated by their local lodge St. Michaels of Dawlish.

Pete is the Environmental Officer for the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust, the charity that runs Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Living Coasts in Torquay and Newquay Zoo in Cornwall.

Cartridges Law continues support for local charity group

Cartridges Law is continuing its support of a project which works with people who have dementia and their carers.

It’s the fourth year the St Thomas-based solicitors have supported the Budding Friends scheme, which is run by Age UK Exeter.

Members of the group were welcomed to the Cartridges Law office for a Christmas social evening, which included a performance by the Big Noise Chorus.

A million reasons to support special year for The Nello

The biggest fundraising event on FORCE Cancer Charity’s calendar will reach a significant milestone next year – The Nello cycle ride will be 20. In honour of its Italian connections, the 2019 ride on Sunday June 30 has been dubbed Il Ventesimo (The Twentieth).

Since the first Nello Century Cycle Challenge in 2000, the ride has raised more than £900,000 for FORCE, which works locally to support anyone affected by cancer, face-to-face and close to home.

Rainbow Living announce partnership with Exeter Golf & Country Club

Rainbow Living is very excited to announce the charity has been selected by Exeter Golf and Country Club as the Golf Captains’ Charity of the Year for 2018/19.

Over the next 12 months Exeter Golf and Country Club is aiming to raise £10,000 for Rainbow Living, which is a local volunteer-run charity providing accommodation for adults with learning and other disability. The Cookie Club Cookbook lifts the lid on one of the most prestigious and exclusive baking clubs in world rugby and its proceeds will raise funds, as well as scrumptious bakes, for local charities the Exeter Chiefs Foundation and Devon Air Ambulance.

The group, open to Exeter rugby players by invitation only, meets regularly through the season to test out favourite treats and perfect their culinary craft. Players take it in turns to prepare cakes and bakes to surprise and delight fellow Cookie Club members.

Haldon Forest Park turns into winter wonderland for charity dog walk

If you go down to the woods next Friday, be sure to take part in pet charity Blue Cross’s Bark in the Dark event to help raise money for sick and homeless pets.

The charity’s event is being held in Haldon Forest near Exeter, and is open to all the family and their four-legged friends.
