The famous red Coca Cola Christmas truck visits Bedford Square in Exeter on Sunday 15 December.

Christmas will soon be here, and to celebrate the start of the festive season Coca Cola's iconic Christmas truck is bringing Coca Cola magic to people in Exeter's city centre. For millions of people, the sight of the famous Coca-Cola Christmas advert hails the beginning of the festive season, so fans in Exeter are in for a real treat as the legendary trucks are set to spread happiness around the city as part of a UK and Ireland tour of 52 locations.

The Exeter Nativity will once again be taking place on Sunday 15 December 4.30 - 5.30pm.

Come and follow Mary, Joseph and their donkey as they make their way through Exeter City Centre to find somewhere for Mary's baby to be born.

This special event begins 4.30pm outside Boots on Exeter High Street and finishes at Exeter Cathedral.

Children might like to dress up as their favourite Christmas character and join Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and other characters from the Christmas story in the Cathedral to sing a few well known Christmas carols.

Christmas Market in full swing

Exeter’s Christmas market is in full swing today with dozens of bespoke stalls trading on the Cathedral Green.

A mix of local traders and specialist stalls from overseas are trading in the alpine style market.

Local trader Mary Tempest, 63, won the Market’s Pitch-Perfect award designed to promote start-up businesses.

Mary, a local artist, is selling a range of her illustrations of local landmarks and historical sites, with designed key rings and mugs also on sale.

Lights switch-on and Christmas Market

Princesshay was packed with people on Thursday night for the big Christmas lights switch on.

Musical Performances by the University of Exeter’s Jazz Orchestra, the South West Music Academy and the Lympstone Military Wives choir counted down to the main event.

Rob Baxter head coach of the Exeter Chiefs and Paul Tisdale, manager of Exeter City Football Club were joined on stage by Exeter City players John O’Flynn and Sam Parkin and the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Rachel Lyons, to officially turn on the lights.

Local Firms Get Into The Christmas Spirit For Charity

Two local professional firms joined forces to organise two seminars which raised monies for ‘Stop Abuse For Everyone’ (SAFE). Haines Watts Forensic, a national chartered accountancy firm and professional chartered financial planners and wealth advisers Towry, held the joint seminars in central Exeter. The events, aimed at family law barristers and solicitors, focused on financial volatility during the divorce process and offered solutions to the impact on clients’ financial settlements.

Early Christmas present for Exeter shoppers

Shoppers in Exeter are to get an early Christmas present with the announcement of special offers in City-Council run Pay & Display car parks in the run up to Christmas.

Starting tomorrow (Thursday 21 November) parking will be free in all City Council-run Pay & Display car parks after 5pm. And those paying for three hours in Pay & Displays on Sundays will be able to get the rest of the day's parking thrown in for free.

Exeter YMCA are inviting you to abseil 100ft, dressed as Santa, to bring an invaluable gift to many young people this Christmas: a home.

Where? @Renslade Office, near Exe Bridges, Exeter.

When? Saturday 7th December, abseil slots available all day and will take about an hour of your time.

Who? This event is open to anyone over the age of 12.
