Exeter accountants cover 115 miles in charity relay ride

Keen cyclists from chartered accountants Francis Clark took to their bikes to raise money for charity by riding a relay across Devon and Cornwall.

Three teams made up of staff from the Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton, Torquay and Truro offices of the South West leading accountancy firm Francis Clark completed a gruelling relay cycling from Truro to Exeter to raise a total of £1,475 for four different charities.

The annual Inter-oOffice relay started from the Truro office where employees Darren Jasper, Adam Keogh, Richard Wadman, Nick Tippett and James West boarded bikes to cycle...

Family Fun Bike Ride to Escot

Firefighters take on John O Groats to Land's End cycle ride

Four firefighters are attempting the challenging bike ride from John O Groats to Land's End over a period of nine days.

They plan to set off on 3 September and hope to raise money for the The Fire Fighters Charity and Motor Neurone Disease Research.

Taking part are Adam Mckee and James Davey from Middlemoor in Exeter, Lee Foreman from Taunton and Tom Statton from Crownhill in Plymouth.

Jurassic Classic set to be a scorcher!

Prostate Cancer UK has unveiled details of the entertainment and activities on offer at its cycling event being held next Sunday (11 August) in Exmouth. One year after being airlifted from a major crash, Matthew Tooke cycles the Devon borders for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT).

Over five days, 25-29 May 2013, Matthew Tooke will be cycling the entire borders of Devon for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT). This comes literally one year after he was airlifted from a terrifying road traffic accident.

While recovering in hospital Matthew vowed to help raise money for the team which helped him receive medical attention so quickly. Sian, his fiancée, suggested he used his love of cycling to help raise money for the Trust...

Devon Hotels raised over £1,000 for the RNLI and Hospitality Action following a charity auction at their Annual Association Dinner, with each charity receiving £500 to put towards the valuable work they do.

James Sharp, Chair of Devon Hotels said: “We are grateful to our members for raising such a fantastic sum of money for these groups and for the prizes that they donated. Devon Hotels represents more than 50 hotels and restaurants in the county and the work that both the RNLI and Hospitality Action do is imperative to our industry, as well as Devon’s tourism.”

Devon Community Foundation welcoming cycle in Devon this weekend

Devon Community Foundation are looking forward to welcoming Calderdale Community Foundation this weekend when they are passing through the county as part of their 906 mile Land’s End to John O’Groats bike ride raising money for young apprenticeships.

The Cycle4Work campaign, which has so far raised more than £95,000, is being lead by Calderdale Community Foundation’s CEO Steve Duncan along with a team of seven cyclists coming from a variety of sporting and ‘not-so-sporting’ backgrounds. Ashfords staff complete five-day cycle marathon for charity

Scores of Ashfords' solicitors swapped their briefs for cycling shorts to support a five-day cycling marathon in aid of their chosen charity, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust. More than 120 members of staff took part in a cyclathon on static bikes and managed to achieve a total of 1,678 miles between them - the equivalent of cycling from Exeter to Casablanca! Ashfords staff go the extra mile - or 500 - for charity

Staff at Ashfords Solicitors are going the extra 500 miles for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust. Having completed a challenge to cycle 1,000 miles in a week two days early, staff are now racing to smash the 1,500 mile barrier by tomorrow evening - Wednesday 30 January - to raise awareness of cervical cancer.
