Cofton Holidays raises over £2,000 for local charities

Multi award-winning Cofton Holidays, based near Dawlish Warren in South Devon, is celebrating raising in excess of £2,000 for local charities over the past twelve months.

Cofton Holidays has raised money for eleven different charities including the Exeter Leukaemia Fund, Devon Air Ambulance, Macmillan Cancer Support, Children's Hospice South West, the Dogs Trust and Dementia UK.

Fundraising soars for Devon Air Ambulance

Otter Garden Centres in Ottery St Mary has announced the total raised for its charity of the year 2017, Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

The East Devon branch of the family-run garden centre ran various fundraising activities across the year to achieve an impressive total of over £7,500.

£700 came from donations to the annual Memory Tree, where customers buy a red or gold ribbon to attach to a Christmas tree in memory of loved ones. £1,000 was raised from parking donations for Ottery St Mary’s Tar Barrels event, with a matching amount donated to the Tar Barrels Carnival Committee...

Broadclyst gets new night landing site for Devon Air Ambulance

Devon Air Ambulance will now be able to land safely in Broadclyst at night due to a new community landing site at Broadclyst Recreation Field. New landing site lighting, operated remotely by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services, has been installed at the Recreation Field to facilitate emergency night operations. This new facility is partly funded by East Devon District Council and Devon County Council through their Parishes Together Fund, and partly funded by Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) through funding from the Bank Libor fines. Devon Air Ambulance lands on playing field to treat casualty

The Devon Air Ambulance landed on a village sports pitch this lunchtime.

Crews attended a property in Bow where they treated a male casualty.

They were joined by colleagues in a land ambulance and spent around 40 minutes on the scene.

The casualty was flown to hospital at around 12.40pm.

Come along to Darts Farm to help celebrate Devon's Air Ambulances' 25th anniversary of saving lives. There is lots for all of the family including an emergency services demonstration at 12.30pm featuring DAA aircrew, the fire, police and ambulance services.

There will also be an opportunity to have your photo taken with Laura. There may even be a special appearance by Goose! Music provided by Exmouth Sea Shanty and Mrs Jones.

Exeter College raises a record breaking £21k for local charity

Students and staff at Exeter College have raised more than £21,000 for local charity Devon Air Ambulance Trust – the most ever raised for a college charity.

In total, they have raised an amazing £21,313 since September 2016, far exceeding their target of £15,000. It has been a whole college effort with a wide variety of events taking place including the annual Festival of Carols, sponsored skydives, cycle challenges and the more traditional bake sales and fairs.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Lesley Robson, will be in attendance at the Budleigh Salterton Male Voice Choir’s (BSMVC) Concert on Saturday 5th August at Exeter Cathedral.

The gala Concert, which is being held in support of Devon Air Ambulance (DAA) in celebration of their 25th year of service, is sure to be a sensational event. Tickets are on sale at Exeter Cathedral box office at £15 for front nave and £12 for side and rear nave, with concession discounts at £10 and £8 for students, £6 and £5 for children.
