Hospiscare has received another mystery donation – this time £1,020 was left outside its flagship store in Exeter’s Fore Street.
The money was left in a large bag, containing a purple quilt, just by the front door a few minutes before staff arrived to open up in the morning.
Last Christmas Hospiscare, Exeter’s local end of life charity, celebrated receiving £3,450 after cash was left in two carrier bags outside its Cowick Street shop and just last month Hospiscare received another mystery donation of £140 in notes, this time through the post, to the same store.
Guide Dogs has received £4,920 to fund starter kits for new guide dog owners across Devon.
The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communities.
Guide Dogs exists to enhance the quality of life of people living with blindness or impaired vision. The grant will provide new guide dog owners with specialised products and aids based on their personal vision and mobility needs such as harnesses and hi-visibility vests, as well as other rehabilitation services....
Following approval by Devon’s cabinet to move forward with plans for the Okehampton East Business Park, the planning application has now also been approved by West Devon Borough Council.
The planning permission includes use for office, distribution and industrial use, road and site levels.
The next stage will be to attract businesses alongside a tender process for construction works.
