'Hunt for a Chief' with Radio Exe

Two Exeter Chiefs rugby players, Alex Brown and Carl Rimmer, will be hidden in a secret location in the city on Wednesday 25th March, as part of a competition launched by Exeter Chiefs and Britannia Lanes, ‘How’ Find Your Pow Wow Friends. Fans will need to decipher clues to work out where the props are placed and be in with a chance of winning a host of goodies, including tickets to a match and a signed shirt and ball.

Devon Hotels Association member, Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club was among the winners at this year’s South West wedding awards which took place at the Plymouth Guildhall on Thursday 12th March 2015.

The 4 star hotel won best Devon wedding venue on the night beating off strong competition.

Man seriously injured in Exeter assault

Detectives have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an unprovoked attack that left the victim seriously injured in Exeter city centre.

A 25-year-old man, from the Exmouth area, was with a group of friends on Saturday 7 February when he was followed by two unknown men.

One of the men allegedly punched the victim in the face in Fore Street, between 3.15am and 3.30am. He suffered a serious facial injury as a result and attended Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment.

Exeter to get its own Monopoly edition

Since the beginning of last month the public has been voting in their many thousands for one of the West Country’s five capital cities to have their very own MONOPOLY for this year.

And Exeter has emerged triumphant, with the announcement being made today at Exeter’s Guildhall.

Devon’s capital city saw off the capitals of Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire in the poll.

Broadband boost for Exeter businessses

As announced in yesterday's (18 March) Budget statement, a large number of Exeter businesses can now receive up to £3,000 to improve their Broadband Connections.

The news comes as Exeter has been approved to join the Government Broadband Connection Vouchers Scheme from 1 April.

Most of the country can get superfast Broadband but some people might live or work in an area where it is not yet available.

A ban on motor-homes and camper-vans parking in EDDC car parks is being eased with effect from today (Thursday 19 March).

These vehicles may now park in the district council’s car parks during the daytime – but the ban on overnight parking of these vehicles remains in place.

East Devon District Council hopes that owners of these vehicles will choose to park in larger car parks for greater ease of access.
