Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service has joined a national initiative to support victims of mass marketing scams.
The National Scams Team is a project funded by the National Trading Standards Board and hosted by East Sussex Trading Standards Service. It works with local trading standards authorities, and a range of other organisations including the Police and Royal Mail to help identify serial victims of mass marketing scams.

The Devon Racqueteers Club was formed in 2008 and is now the largest wheelchair badminton club in the UK. A woman from Exmouth who sold fake and unsafe cosmetics on ebay was sentenced in Exeter Crown Court today (Thursday).
Deborah Hamber, used two separate eBay accounts to sell £25,000 worth of counterfeit cosmetic products, bearing brand names such as Benefit, Lancome and MAC.
Ms Hamber received a four month suspended prison sentence plus 150 hours of community service today as a result of the prosecution brought by Devon and Somerset Trading Standards Service.
