Local author to visit Exeter Library.

Local author Justin Newland will be visiting Exeter Library to sign copies of his novel, The Genes of Isis.

The event will take place in the Rougemont Lounge from 11 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturday 8th September, 2018.

The novel is an epic fantasy and supernatural thriller set under Ancient Egyptian skies and weaves together two threads: the story of the flood in the Book of Genesis and the myth of Isis and Osiris. Justin’s second novel, The Old Dragon’s Head, is a historical fantasy set in Old China (published November 2018)....

Balfour Beatty team prepares to Open Doors at Exeter Library

Exeter Central Library, which is being refurbished by Mansell, a Balfour Beatty brand, will be opening its doors to the public on 27 and 28 September for the UK Contractors Group Open Doors Weekend. Open Doors Weekend aims to promote the diverse world of modern construction by giving the public access to selected construction sites around the UK. Exeter's cultural quarter redevelopment plans revealed

Plans to improve the public space outside Exeter Central Library will be considered by Councillors next week.

The scheme , which will go before the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on Tuesday (23 July), aims to provide a more attractive pedestrian environment, improve links with the cultural quarter and wider city and address accessibility issues.

Work starts on multi-million pound city library redevelopment

Construction work has started on the multi-million pound project to transform Exeter Central Library into a first class facility for information, learning and culture.

The flagship 1960s building has been officially handed over to leading construction company Mansell who have been appointed by Devon County Council to undertake the redevelopment.

Devon Libraries celebrate World Book Night

Book lovers in Devon are being invited to celebrate World Book Night at the County Council’s libraries next week.

Each year World Book Night organisers recruit 20,000 volunteers to hand out 20 copies of their favourite book from the World Book Night list to members of their community who don’t regularly read.
