Worcester Warriors 31 Exeter Chiefs 21

Exeter’s hopes of advancing in this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup were dealt a potentially fatal blow as Worcester Warriors took the spoils in a high-scoring encounter at Sixways.

Ricky Pellow’s Chiefs outfit started the day top of the pile in Pool Two, but this five-try loss, coupled with Harlequins easily defeating Scarlets, means qualification hopes are now out of their hands.

A bonus point victory at home to Saracens is imperative next week, but even then that may not be enough as it would require Quins’ needing to slip up against Northampton Saints in their final pool...

Chiefs side to face Worcester Warriors

Ricky Pellow says a big fortnight lies ahead for his Exeter Chiefs side as they prepare to resume battle in this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup.

Having already dispatched Northampton Saints (43-28) and Scarlets (40-0) in the opening two rounds, the Chiefs head to Worcester Warriors tomorrow (3pm) looking to maintain their impressive winning formula in the competition, whilst at the same time keeping rivals Harlequins and Sale Sharks firmly at bay.

With the battle for a place in the last four set to intensity over the next two weeks, Cornishman Pellow knows his side can ill afford...

Rob Baxter says he is expecting both Sam Hill and James Short to get even better over the next two years after the duo both agreed terms on new deals with the Exeter Chiefs.

The talented backs are the latest squad members to commit their futures to the reigning Aviva Premiership champions, following in the stud marks of team-mates Greg Holmes, Mitch Lees, Gareth Steenson, Elvis Taione, Ian Whitten, Harry Williams and Jack Yeandle, who themselves have all penned new contracts this month.

Keen to ensure the player pool at Sandy Park remains largely untouched, Director of...

Stars from the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club officially opened a newly refurbished paediatric X-ray room at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital recently.

The room has been given a jungle-style makeover so it is more friendly and welcoming for children thanks to a fundraising campaign led by Radiology staff and the support of digital imaging company Agfa HealthCare.

It is the second room to receive a makeover as a result of the RD&E’s Big Raise for Little Rays campaign.

The campaign successfully funded the £5,000 refurbishment the first X-ray room with a submarine...

Club captain Jack Yeandle heads up a list of four Exeter Chiefs players who have today penned new deals with the Aviva Premiership champions.

The 28-year-old hooker, together with fellow front-row forwards Greg Holmes, Elvis Taione and Harry Williams, have become the latest squad members to commit their futures to the Chiefs.

The confirmation of the quartet signing on comes in the same week as club-mates...

Exeter’s hopes of dining out with Europe’s elite in the latter stages of this season’s Champions Cup were sadly burnt to pieces in a crucial ten minute spell here at Scotstoun.

With little to choose between the Chiefs and hosts Glasgow Warriors at the break, it was the Scotsmen who prospered in the second period, claiming a first European win of the season, and with it extinguishing Exeter’s hopes of a last eight place.

A controversial yellow card against Chiefs scrum-half Nic White not only saw him banished from the action midway through the half, but the penalty try and...

Chiefs side to face Glasgow Warriors

The maths are simple, win or bust!

Exeter Chiefs know nothing less than victory will be enough for them as they look to qualify for the last eight of this season’s European Champions Cup.

Tomorrow, the reigning English champions head North of the Border for their final Pool 3 assignment of the season against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun (1pm).

Having propelled themselves back into contention with last weekend’s six-try, 41-10 victory over Montpellier at Sandy Park, Rob Baxter’s side know they will have to reproduce a similar performance, if not better, to over the...

Chiefs duo agree new deals

Rob Baxter’s forward thinking at Sandy Park has continued with news that both Mitch Lees and Ian Whitten have committed their futures to the Exeter Chiefs.

Just days after long-serving fly-half Gareth Steenson put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, two of his club-mates have followed suit by agreeing similar terms that will keep them at the club until 2021.

Director of Rugby Baxter makes no secret that his first priority is often retention of players ahead of recruitment and he says keeping hold of two of his more senior stars is paramount moving forward.

Steenson signs new deal at Chiefs

Gareth Steenson has spoken of his delight after putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal with the Exeter Chiefs.

The club’s record points-scorer is to extend his stay at Sandy Park until at least the end of 2019/20 season and is the first indication from Director of Rugby Rob Baxter that he is keen to keep hold of a number of his frontline stars moving forward.

Signed by the Chiefs back in the summer of 2010 from the Cornish Pirates, the 33-year-old fly-half has played an integral part in the recent rise of Exeter out of the Championship and into one of the leading rugby...

Exeter Chiefs 41 Montpellier 10

If there are ever thoughts of another tunnel being dug beneath the English Channel, then the Exeter Chiefs pack could well put in a tender for the role.

Rob Baxter's juggernaut set of forwards have become past masters in the art of digging deep to extract rich rewards.

Against visiting Montpellier, the English champions were ruthless in their execution of duty, delivering a six-try victory that kept alive their hopes of qualification in this season's European Champions Cup.

Having led just 7-0 at the break thanks to a converted try from Dave Ewers, Devon's finest...
