Rob Baxter says Exeter Chiefs should set their sights high and look to be amongst the top clubs challenging for honours come the end of the season.
Having already advanced to one major final this term, the Devon club are now targeting a second as they look to advance to a first-ever European Challenge Cup Final on Friday, May 1.
Standing in the way of Baxter's in-form charges, however, are Aviva Premiership rivals Gloucester, who provide the opposition in tonight's mouth-watering semi-final at Kingsholm (7:45pm).
With both clubs have advanced to this stage with...
As he has proved for a number of years now, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter isn’t afraid to put his trust in players from the Championship making the step up to life in the Aviva Premiership.
Today, the Chiefs leader has added his latest new face to the club’s playing ranks for next season with the signing of prop Harry Williams from Jersey.
The talented tight-head, who has agreed a two-year deal with the Sandy Park outfit, is Baxter’s seventh new addition for next term and his second is as many weeks from English rugby’s second tier.
Exeter Chiefs are continuing their busy period of recruitment for next season with young prop Harry Williams the latest name added to the playing roster for the 2015/16 season.
The 23-year-old, tight-head prop is Rob Baxter’s seventh recent signing having agreed terms on a two-year deal from Championship side Jersey.
An upcoming front-row force, Williams has nurtured his rugby career initially as a youngster at Wasps, before moving on for spells with Loughborough University, Nottingham and, more recently, Jersey.
Standing at 6’2” and weighing in at just over 20...
Organisers of the inaugural South West Rugby 7s are offering one lucky team the chance to play at the tournament for free. Teams that enter the South West Rugby 7s before April 30th will be entered into a draw to have their entry fee refunded, which includes 10 passes to the European Grand Prix 7s taking place at Sandy Park on the same weekend. The new 7s tournament, which has already attracted several teams, will take place between the 10th and 12th of July – starting with an opening party on the Friday night and continuing with rugby action throughout the weekend. The South West Rugby 7s...
Comedy at the Park returns to Sandy Park on Friday, June 12th.
The line-up includes Tim Clark, a comedian, writer and actor who's been described as one of the brightest lights on the national comedy scene and Erich McElroy, a Seattle-born comedian who's highly regarded for his humorous and insightful take on living in the UK. Also on stage will be Paul T Eyres, with his very energetic, highly interactive and slightly surreal brand of humour, and Sally-Anne Hayward - a charming and popular performer with a winning brand of autobiographical humour.
Phil Dollman insists he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates can ill afford to take their foot of the pedal as they look to push for honours over the final weeks of the season.
Having narrowly missed out on retaining their LV= Cup crown last month, Rob Baxter's side are still pushing hard on two other fronts with the Devon club currently occupying one of the four play-off spots in the Aviva Premiership, as well as having booked a first-ever European semi-final against Gloucester this Saturday (7:45pm).
For Dollman - one of a number of Chiefs who have been part of the club since...
Match report: Exeter Chiefs 21 Northampton Saints 10
Exeter Chiefs underlined their Aviva Premiership play-off credentials with aplomb as they saw off visiting Northampton Saints at a packed Sandy Park.
A dominant set-piece, allied with razor-sharp attacking play and some defiant defensive work, ensured Rob Baxter’s side became the first side this season to complete the double over Jim Mallinder’s visitors.
Having won at Franklin’s Gardens back in November, the Chiefs produced arguably an even greater display in this latest outing to propel themselves back into the...
Rob Baxter wants his Exeter Chiefs side to reinforce their “traditional qualities” as they look to become the first side this season to do the double over reigning Aviva Premiership champions Northampton Saints.
The Chiefs remain the only club to have toppled the league leaders on home soil this season, emerging victorious from their clash back in November, and the two sides will lock horns again this Sunday at a sold-out Sandy Park (2pm).
With the Saints currently riding high at the summit, ten points clear of next best Saracens, the Chiefs know it will be their toughest...
A three-day rugby training camp held by Exeter Chiefs and Newton Abbot has been hailed an ‘amazing success’.
More than 90 five to 14 year olds took part in the three-day Rugby Training Camp held at Newton Abbot Rugby Club, in the Easter holidays.
Boys and girls took part, learning rugby and multi-sport skills provided by qualified rugby coaches and 1st XV players. The training camp culminated with Exeter Chiefs star players Tom Johnson and Gareth Steenson getting involved on the final day, thanks to the Premiership side’s sponsor Centrax.
Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says it’s unlikely Scottish international Moray Low will play for the club again this season.
The 30-year-old tight-head was forced off during last weekend’s European Challenge Cup victory over Newcastle Falcons at Sandy Park with a a hamstring injury.
Scans this week have since revealed that Low - who was signed from Glasgow Warriors last summer - has caused significant damage and will now sit out the remaining weeks of the campaign.
It’s an untimely blow for Baxter, whose side this weekend play host to league leaders Northampton...
