It was the conflict of a generation and one that many will never forget. On 2nd April 1982, Argentina invaded the Falklands Islands with the aim of recapturing them from Spain. Exeter golfer wins Double Devon title

Chiefs help launch new golf course

The 'Twenty Sixteen' Golf Course at Exeter Golf and Country Club was officially opened on Monday 18th July with an afternoon of golf, fizz and Devon cream teas.

WESC held their charity golf day at Exeter Golf & Country Club on 12 May sponsored by ITEC. With a record 17 four-ball teams entering and over £7,000 raised, the Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment declared 2016 as their most successful charity golf day to date.

Marathon month for club runners

By mid-May, Lee Cooke the Gym Manager at Exeter Golf and Country Club Gym Manager will have run two marathons and completed an endurance 24 hour run for children’s charity, VICTA.

Despite only starting running two years ago, Lee has achieved what usually takes many years for most experience runners. Spurred on by personal drive and his passion for the charity VICTA, Lee achieved good times in both the Paris and London marathons in April. He is now training for his next big event, the Hope 24.

Golf member, Rob Simpson has been awarded ‘Club Person of the Year’ at Exeter Golf and Country Club for donating his kidney to fellow member and best friend, Martin.

Rob and Martin have been best friends for fifteen years, having worked together as paramedics for the past twenty-five years. Since April 2015, the men have shared more than their lengthy friendship, when Rob successfully donated his kidney to Martin.
