Exeter golf course plans finalised

The finalised plans for the golf course alterations are now available at Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Following some weeks of consultation with the golf members, the Board have approved the plans of the work to be carried out over the next six months.

Golf course architect, Tom MacKenzie of MacKenzie Ebert and Exeter Golf and Country Club have appointed experienced golf course construction company 1st Golf to carry out the course alterations.

With the main alteration work commencing Monday 27th April, 1st Golf are carrying out initial enabling works in early April...

Junior tennis players battle it out at Flybe Tournament

On Saturday 28th February, Exeter Golf and Country Club’s hosted a 10 and under Flybe Mini Green Tennis tournament with players from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset taking part.

The fifteen entrants were split into three groups and took part in a round robin event.

The group winners were Toby Watts (Tarka), Ben Johnson (Exmouth) and Zac Brown (Exmouth) who won all of their four matches.

Billy Turl (Exeter Golf and Country Club) was involved in two of the closest matches. The very first match of the competition, Billy v Toby, was decided by a tie-break with Billy...

Club president raises £4,400 for Hospiscare

The 2014 Club President of Exeter Golf and Country Club has raised £4,400 for local charity, Hospiscare.

Hilary Weatherley, who was Club President of the Exeter golf club until January, decided to use his passion for live music to offer new events at the club to generate fundraising. With a background in music, Hilary is a keen folk fan and wanted to celebrate the talents of fellow club member, Steve Knightley, of Topsham-based folk band, Show of Hands.

Exeter Golf and Country Club raise £700 for Hospiscare at the Rock Solid Race Exeter

Both teams from Exeter Golf and Country Club celebrated successfully completing the mighty Rock Solid Race on Saturday 15th March at Escot, raising £700 for Hospiscare.

The 7k race (which was originally billed as 5K!) was set within the woods, rivers and fields at Escot House with 35 obstacles along the way.
