Exeter School is delighted to offer eight free places to children from the local community. The co-educational independent school for children aged 7 – 18 has received sufficient donations and legacies from former pupils, in addition to ongoing grants from a local charity, to create eight bursaries for children from Exeter. Fourteen Exeter School pupils have been offered places at Medical School, or to read Veterinary Science or Dentistry for September 2017.
Many of these pupils received more than one offer and in the competitive field of Medicine they should be congratulated on this considerable achievement.
In the last three years, Exeter School has received 38 medical offers.
Peter Boddington, who runs Exeter School's thriving Medical Society, said he believed successful medics needed to be motivated, organised, pro-active and confident.
Exeter School is delighted to be in receipt of a Steinway piano. The beautiful model B piano is on loan to Exeter School for use by the school and local community.
Director of Music Peter Tamblyn said the piano was like the Rolls Royce of pianos and he was very grateful for the opportunity to hire such an instrument.

Two Exeter School Young Enterprise teams took part in the Devon Finals Competition that was held at the Met Office on Wednesday 27 April with one team winning two out of three awards.
The successful team now goes on to present Devon in the West of England round.

The South West qualifying event for the National Series 2017 is open to all, aged 11+, and organised by ex-British Pistol Shooter Georgina ‘Gorgs’ Geikie who represented Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Gorgs grew up on the edge of Dartmoor and, inspired by the success of local heroes Kate Allenby and Steph Cook at the Sydney Olympics, initially took up modern pentathlon. For the 16th year running and with support from South West Water and On Tap Water, the talented young musicians and singers from Exeter School will perform a special concert to raise funds for international charity WaterAid.
All proceeds from the concert, which takes place at St Michael's Church, Heavitree, from 7.30pm on Wednesday 26 April, will go directly to WaterAid projects in Zambia, helping some of the country's poorest communities gain access to clean water and safe sanitation.
