An innovative scheme which employs prisoners to construct environmentally-friendly housing has been described as a ‘game-changer’ by a former inmate and a ‘triple win’ by Justice Secretary Alex Chalk.

Outline planning permission for Exeter developer secured

A major Exeter-based developer is working towards bringing new homes to the city.

Persimmon Homes South West secured outline planning consent for up to 50 high-quality homes, 35% of which will be designated for a local housing association, in line with Exeter City Council policy, on land adjacent to Blakeslee Drive in Newcourt.

The site is 3.2 hectares in size with family housing making up around a third of this while the remaining area will be provided as open space and surface water drainage.

Aspiring barristers can get a glimpse into the life of a lawyer from their desktops after Browne Jacobson launched a virtual work experience programme.

The UK and Ireland law firm has created the UK Law job simulation on the Forage platform, which provides online courses to help students from less advantaged backgrounds discover and land jobs at reputable businesses.
