Newton Abbot writer/director, Luke Jeffery, 22, has been commissioned to make his film Seeing Red by Exeter Phoenix as part of their Devon Short Film Commission scheme, and is currently auditioning actors and crew.
Set in the 1960s, the surreal comedy is about a straight-laced wedding photographer who is prescribed LSD in a misguided attempt to cure his colour blindness, and will be filmed in and around Exeter and Newton Abbot. A planning inspector has declared Teignbridge District Council’s 20-year Plan Teignbridge document for the future to be sound, and has given the go-ahead for it to be adopted by the council.
The Planning Inspectorate (PINS) issued its final report into the council’s plan yesterday which maps out how jobs, homes, including affordable, community facilities, roads, country parks, and more will be provided to meet local needs over the next 20 years.
In his report the Inspector said:

Historian Dr Todd Gray has been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for his voluntary services to Devon heritage.
The investiture is at Buckingham Palace on Friday 14 March. For almost a century, University of Exeter historians have actively been involved in Devon based historical studies and societies, all of which survive on voluntary work.
