Families are invited to get stuck in at Lower Halsdon Farm, near Exmouth, on Sunday 27 September. From 10am until 3pm, children will be given the chance to connect with nature and the outdoors as work on hedge-centric tasks including cutting back and laying with loppers and saws. As well as learning new skills, they will build confidence and explore aspects of countryside management in an informal and relaxed way. During February half term the National Trust East Devon Rangers will be running another ‘family muck in’ day at Lower Halsdon Farm, Exmouth.
The session will take place on Tuesday 18 February between 10.30am and 2.30pm and families can stay for the whole session or just an hour or so to help the rangers cut back the hedges ready for laying.

Starting at A la Ronde, the circular walks take in National Trust’s Lower Halsdon Farm and part of the Exe estuary trail.
It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the farm and wildlife of the area.
The walks are approx 2.5 miles long and take place 10am – 12.30pm and 1pm – 3.30pm. Places are free but numbers are limited so please book in advance by phoning A la Ronde on 01395 265514.
