Molly Batchelor, a student at Exeter’s Maynard School, and her crew returned from last weekend’s Junior Inter Regional Rowing Regatta in Nottingham on the crest of a wave having been placed 5th nationally.

“I’m really pleased with this result as the only ones that beat us were four groups of professionals who are so high up in the leagues that they are banned from some regattas altogether! So it was excellent to get into the top six and we posted some really good times as well.”

Molly’s quad team is made up of three other girls all of whom represent the Exeter Rowing Club....

Teddy Bears’ Picnic draws a hungry crowd to new Pre-Prep

Future and prospective pupils for the Maynard School’s Pre-Prep Department, opening in September 2016, enjoyed a fantastic teddy bears’ picnic in their new classrooms on Thursday 21 April..

The entire 15 spaces available were taken up by girls aged 4 – 7 years, all excitedly bringing their favourite teddy bear to join in with a spot of sandwich making (and eating!) as well as some general play activities.

“There were many highlights,” said Emma Cook, who took up her role as the new Headmistress of the Pre-Prep at the start of this term, “but, for me, seeing their reaction...

The five main categories were judged to be excellent but equally important to us was that the ISI found that both parents and pupils, responding to the pre-...

Students from a number of schools in the Exeter area were treated to an extremely rare talk when Dr. Helen Sharman OBE, the first Briton in space, delivered a fascinating lecture at the city’s Belmont Chapel on Tuesday 3 November.
