Broadclyst School children record their own school advert at Heart Radio

Ten children from Year 6 at Broadclyst Community Primary School helped to devise and record their own radio advert for the school’s open days at Global Radio HQ in Exeter on 3 November.

The youngsters are currently taking part in the school’s Global Enterprise Challenge, an annual business enterprise initiative that incorporates a wide range of business skills while encompassing many different elements of the school curriculum. The trip to the Heart Devon radio studios allowed them to learn more about business advertising and marketing as well as to produce the school advert....

Some of Exeter’s most fascinating buildings will open their doors to the public free of charge next week for Heritage Open Days.

Among those taking part are Exeter’s Guildhall, the Barnfield Theatre, Princesshay ,Tuckers Hall, 21 The Mint, various Red Coat Guided tours and Exeter’s Underground Passages. The event runs from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 September.

Trust aims to recruit more nurses

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is holding an open day to recruit more nurses.

The Trust is looking for experienced and newly-qualified nurses to bolster its teams at North Devon District Hospital, in community hospitals and supporting people in their homes.

The Trust is also recruiting physiotherapists and occupational therapists (OTs).

The open day is taking place at Honiton Hospital on Monday 25 April, from 10am to 3pm.

Exeter Historic Building Trust presents a unique opportunity to view up close and actually touch the 15th century oak-beamed, arch-beamed, arch-braced roof of the refectory of the Benedictine Priory of St Nicholas.
