Lord and Lady Courtenay (Charlie and AJ) will be attending the Re-interment of King Richard III today (Thursday 26 March 2015) at Leicester Cathedral.

Charlie will be representing his father, the 18th Earl of Devon, who has been invited to attend as a ‘Bosworth Peer’ – one of 15 representatives from the Houses of York and Lancaster descended from the principal protagonists in the Wars of the Roses.

Biker seriously injured in Kenton crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision involving two buses and a motorcycle in Kenton.

The collision happened at around 7.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 March) on the A379 between the Powderham turning and Kenton village.

A double-decker bus and grey Yamaha motorcycle were travelling from Exeter towards Dawlish, and a single-decker bus was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the incident.

Chocolate and Candy fortnight

Garden Festival an exhibitor sell-out

A total of 150 exhibitors have snapped up the available space Toby Buckland’s Garden Festival at Powderham Castle, four months before the event, which takes place on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd May.

The annual two-day Garden Festival was launched last year by horticulturalist, nursery owner and TV presenter Toby Buckland, and was an immediate success, drawing around 8000 visitors, with several exhibitors having to restock several times during the event to keep up with demand.

The new festival showcases many local nurseries from the Westcountry who otherwise are overshadowed...

Garden festival promises to be bigger and better next year

Toby Buckland’s annual garden festival at Powderham Castle, Devon, is fast becoming recognised as one of the most important events of its kind in the South West, attracting celebrity gardening experts and providing an annual rendezvous for enthusiastic gardeners and award-winning regional nurseries.

We have thrills and chills planned this half-term! Children can follow the Pumpkin Trail to win their own pumpkin to carve in the Potting Shed.
