Rosa’s Thai to open in Exeter

Popular restaurant group Rosa’s Thai is excited to announce that it will open the doors to its much-anticipated Exeter restaurant - its first in the South West - on Saturday 4th February, bringing its celebrated Thai dishes to Queen street.

To celebrate the opening, Rosa’s Thai Exeter is offering 50% off the food bill for all bookings during its soft launch from 31st January to the 3rd February.

Rosa’s Thai started as a market stall on London’s Brick Lane in 2007, where renowned Thai chef Saiphin Moore served up her time-honoured family recipes to hungry lunchtime crowds...

Local chef hosting Sunday pop ups at Sidwell Street Cafe in Exeter

Doucet head chef David Knapman will be at The Sidwell Street Cafe in Exeter for three lunches this winter cooking a menu inspired by local produce and local recipes.

After growing up in Devon, David has spent 15 years working in some of the world’s top restaurants, including six years at The Fat Duck and most recently two years in France at the 3-Michelin star Maison Lameloise.

David and the Doucet team will be serving a 3-course lunch menu priced at £35 on Sunday 20 November, Sunday 4 December and Sunday 18 December.

The Terrace hosts an event for our four-legged friends

A popular restaurant and bar in Exeter is looking to attract a new breed of customer – the four-legged variety, to be precise.

The Terrace, located in The Guildhall, will be taken over by the Pup-Up Café who specialise in events for man’s (and woman’s) best friend. Each session is split by breed so owners and their dogs of all ages can meet each other.

Doors open on Saturday 1 October from 10am and will see up to 50 Pugs or Frenchies per session, along with their owners.

Margoux to open in Princesshay

Margoux Restaurant and Wine Bar will open in Princesshay on 25thMarch 2022, the latest addition to the centre’s line-up of eateries.

Margoux is relocating to Princesshay Square, next to Coal Kitchen, offering restaurant dining and adding a new cocktail lounge and a sun-trap terrace overlooking Exeter Cathedral for al fresco dining.

McDonald’s Marsh Barton Restaurant set to reopen

Following significant investment from local franchisee, David Shawyer, McDonald’s in Stone Lane Retail Park on Marsh Barton Road is set to reopen on 3rd February 2022 after a major refurbishment, which has brought exciting new features to the restaurant. The official re-opening will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Trish Oliver, to officiate with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Staffing crisis for hospitality - Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant to close 2 days a week temporarily

Brand new Exmouth foodie destination, Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant, will be open 5 days rather than 7 at the start of July temporarily to maintain the highest standards of operation within the restaurant, whilst ensuring staff are well looked after. The restaurant will be closed on two Mondays and Tuesdays in July (Monday 5th & Tuesday 6th and Monday 12th & Tuesday 13th July), further dates will be reviewed there-after.
