A Scandinavian-inspired casual dining concept - Food Drink Coffee & Store - will be the sixth restaurant to join Exeter's exciting new Queen St Dining quarter.

KuPP signed contracts with Aviva Investors on last week and this will be KuPP's first site outside London, marking yet another huge boost for Exeter as a dining location. Aviva have been working hard to secure a wide selection of food and drink operators to create a unique dining offer at Queen St Dining and KuPP is the latest ingredient in this mix.

Cofton Country Holidays launches new range of high-end holiday cottages

Devon’s multi award winning Cofton Country Holidays, located near the pretty coastline at Dawlish Warren, welcomed over 40 guests to the unveiling of its new range of eight high-end holiday cottages this week, including guests of honour Beckie Bettesworth and Laura Wall, both of whom have artwork in the cottages.

Lloyd’s Kitchen and Heart raise cash for Honeylands

Independently owned Lloyd’s Kitchen joined forces with Heart to help raise money for Honeylands Children’s Charity.

The Global ‘Make Some Noise’ campaign organised by Heart, attracted 50 diners and four competition winners to Lloyd’s Kitchen.

Restaurateur Lloyd Gardner hosted the event donating a delicious three-course dinner, prepared by resident Chef Graeme Murfin, for each guest with all monies going to the charity.

Breakfast presenters Matt and Caroline were on hand to entertain the guests and help out in the kitchen.

Circa 1924, the new kids on the block in Exeter’s culinary scene, threw a party to celebrate the opening of its seafood, steak house and cool moonshiner cocktail bar.

Owners James Waddington and Rob Weeks welcomed the great and the good of Exeter to the venue, treating everyone to their tasty cocktails and Circa style canapés, as well as celebratory fizz and oysters.

Las Iguanas rebukes claims staff made to ‘pay to work’

Las Iguanas has rebuked claims that their staff are made to ‘pay to work’.

In a posting on The Exeter Daily last night, 38 Degrees said people in Exeter are taking action to stop the restaurant forcing staff to pay back 3% of their total sales at the end of each shift.

A spokesman for Las Iguanas said: “Claims that we make staff ‘pay to work’ are ridiculous, as that would be illegal and bears no resemblance to our actual policy.

We are very fortunate to live just outside Exeter, a city which now boasts a vast array of assorted eateries, bars and restaurants and we endeavour to dine out with our two boys at least once a month and have done this since the boys were small as I did with my parents introducing them to new flavours and learning to behave impeccably when dining out amongst the ‘grown-ups’. Jamil sets his sights on British Curry Awards

Jamil Miah, founder of Denley's Essence of India in Topsham, is hoping to garner some all-important support from fans of the popular Indian restaurant for the chance of winning a prestigious British Curry Award later this year. Having been shortlisted four times already, since 2009, Jamil says he is excited about the possibility of coming away with a grand prize this year.

Circa 1924, a new restaurant located just off Exeter High Street at 6 Northernhay Place, is set to take the city’s culinary scene by storm with its 1920s-inspired steak and seafood house and ‘moonshiner’ speakeasy cocktail bar.
