Children from the Holy Trinity Church 0-5 Playgroup in Exmouth have created a bright and colourful exhibition of artwork inspired by items from A la Ronde, the National Trust property near Exmouth.

This year the source of inspiration for the children’s work was a mosaic-topped table from the Drawing Room which was decorated by cousins Jane and Mary Parminter, on whose instructions the quirky 16 sided house was built.

Latest reports say 27 people have been killed, including many children, in a shooting attack at a primary school in the US state of Connecticut.

This is the first image of children being led away from the tragic scene.

The Associated Press say at least 18 children are among the dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.The school is currently on lockdown as police investigate. Multiple witnesses say the school's principal was killed, another teacher was shot.

Exeter schools warn parents about child abuse image

Schools in Exeter are warning parents about an image of child abuse being passed around via text message and social networking sites.

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre (CEOP) has written to Exeter schools alerting them to an image of child abuse which is currently being disseminated via Blackberry Messenger and the internet.

The notification reads:

It has come to our attention that there is a link to a child abuse image currently being distributed via Blackberry Messenger. In addition it is also being distributed via other social networking sites....
