The Charity Fashion Show on 8 October at The Maynard School been hailed a sensational success, raising nearly £1000 for the education charity, Plan UK.

Alison Gagg, Education Department Manager at Buckfast Abbey , is celebrating the news that she has been shortlisted for a Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC). Drivers urged to ‘Think Before You Park’

Exeter Local Policing team have launched their ‘Think Before You Park’ project in partnership with Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue and Exeter County Council Parking Enforcement.

The project is an exciting new multiagency initiative that aims to tackle problem parking, where drivers have parked anti-socially, without care or consideration for other road users, pedestrians and emergency service vehicles.

To celebrate Exeter’s Host City status in the Rugby World Cup, Princesshay has invited eight local schools from across Exeter and surrounding villages to take part in its Rugby Team Scarecrow competition.

Each school has been designated a team which is playing at Sandy Park in the Rugby World Cup, plus England, South Africa and Wales. Pupils have been set a challenge to use that team’s colours to fashion a bright and colourful decorative scarecrow to represent their chosen team.

Bath Spa University and University of Exeter have joined forces to revive public interest in the natural history of the Devonshire coast.

‘Science at the Seaside: Pleasure Hunts in North Devon’ is a collaborative public engagement project between the two universities.

Exeter schoolchildren celebrate RWC 2015

Rugby excitement gripped school children today with just one day until the start of the Rugby World Cup 2015. Primary aged children had their very own spectacular and colourful rugby world cup relay festival to mark the start of the tournament. Education milestone for Cranbrook

The first students started their classes at the new Cranbrook Education Campus on Thursday 3 September, a brand new ‘all through’ school for pupils aged between two and 16 run by The Ted Wragg Trust.

The school opened with around 60 places filled in the Nursery, 17 primary school students and 31 Year 7 students. The classrooms are being opened in phases, with more space used in line with student numbers as the community continues to grow.
