We are looking for local members of the public and students , aged between 18-35 , to take part in a social psychology field-study about contact with older people in everyday settings and situations. When we speak of older people, we mean people that are approaching retirement age, or are already retired. We are interested in every kind of contact, even if it is very brief. Exeter School artists prepare for professional art exhibition

Pupils studying AS Art and Design are currently preparing for an exhibition of their work, based on the theme of ‘Decay’, in the Brook Gallery in Exeter, from 25 to 29 January.

Exeter School will be the first school to display pupils’ work in ‘The White Room’ in the Gallery as part of their new educational programme.

Exeter Provost joins high-level taskforce to tackle harassment on university campuses

Professor Janice Kay, Provost of the University of Exeter, has accepted an invitation to join a high level taskforce designed to address all forms of harassment on University campuses.

The influential taskforce, set up by Universities UK, will explore what more can be done by universities across the country to prevent students from becoming victims of harassment and hate crimes on campus.

University of Exeter students are leading a project with the Met Office, British Geological Survey and Lancaster University to better understand space weather events and the prediction of their impacts.

Space Weather is caused by large eruptions on the Sun which can have a dramatic impact on technology including communications, energy supply and satellite operations as well as affecting radiation levels and exposure.

‘Bingo!’ – a phrase usually exclaimed with excitement and passion – no one questions the meaning. It would however seem, that according to recent research, students in Exeter are not so excited by the game itself – in stark contrast other locations.

Four members of Exeter City Swimming Club have successfully attained qualifying times for the British Short Course National Championships being held in Sheffield on December 17th.

Dominic Wooldridge (20), Liam White (17), Katie Townsend (15) and Warren Barrett (28) all gained their qualifying times at the Exeter City Swimming Club level 2 meet held at Plymouth Aquatics Centre at the beginning of October.

Students awarded Library of Congress Fellowship

Two University of Exeter postgraduates have won the opportunity to enhance their research at the largest library in the world, the Library of Congress in Washington DC, USA.
