On Sunday 18th October, hundreds of runners and spectators will flood to Exeter city centre to support the 31st annual Great West Run.
With local businesses and residents coming together to support those taking on the challenge, many local charities are benefiting from participants raising money for good causes. YMCA Exeter is one of those charities.
With a team already signed up to run, the charity – which provides supported housing for homeless young people across Exeter – is hoping that the participants will raise vital funds for their St. Davids Hill hostel.
A team of executives from Exeter Family Friendly raised £2675 for Devon-based charity Rainbow Living after cycling 72 miles from Wellington to Salcombe.

The Residential Property team at Michelmores took over the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) shop in Crediton on the 9th June 2015. Raising funds by selling cakes, steaming clothes and dressing the store windows the team raised £650 in one day for the charity.
The Exeter Leukaemia Fund supports families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders across the South West by providing compassionate, tailored support in the Yarty ward at the RD&E where around 400 patients are treated each week.
