Celebrations have taken place in honour of Devon’s state-of-the-art centre for cat rehoming and welfare with famous faces visiting the site to mark its reopening.

Michelin-starred local chef Michael Caines MBE visited the Cats Protection Devon Cat Centre for a private tour with his partner and daughter before broadcaster Judi Spiers cut the ribbon to declare the centre officially open.

Lympstone Manor is the latest Southwest hospitality venue to benefit from Otter Brewery’s Pints mean Tress initiative, run together with Saving Devon’s Treescapes.

On Friday 7th, April 2023, Michael Caines MBE was joined by Otter Brewery’s Managing Director, Patrick McCaig, Estate Manager Adam Street, and Saving Devon’s Treescapes Lead, Rosie Cotgreave to plant several trees in the grounds of Lympstone Manor. The planting of these trees takes Otter Brewery one step closer to hitting the 250,000 target that they set in 2022.

Lympstone Manor, the acclaimed luxury country house hotel on the banks of the Exe Estuary in East Devon, has once again been awarded 5 AA Rosettes for the fourth consecutive year.

This October welcomes the arrival of a brand new winter dining offer at Michael Caines’ renowned country house hotel, Lympstone Manor.

Available only in the Pool House, non-members and non-resident guests will be able to enjoy a two or three-course lunch overlooking the 11-acre vineyard and the hotel’s outdoor pool with views of the Exe Estuary beyond.

Since opening earlier this year, this is the first time local guests will be able to experience the relaxed ambience of the Pool House with the menu available from Wednesday to Sunday until March 2023.

Restoration plans unveiled for Royal Clarence

Plans to restore Exeter’s iconic Royal Clarence building and bring life back to this much-loved historic landmark in the heart of the city are being unveiled today.

The Grade II listed Royal Clarence, which occupies an important site facing Exeter Cathedral, was devastated by a fire in 2016.

Staffing crisis for hospitality - Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant to close 2 days a week temporarily

Brand new Exmouth foodie destination, Mickeys Beach Bar & Restaurant, will be open 5 days rather than 7 at the start of July temporarily to maintain the highest standards of operation within the restaurant, whilst ensuring staff are well looked after.
