Solus opens new vehicle repair centre in Exeter

Solus, a wholly-owned subsidiary of insurer, Aviva, is opening a new vehicle damage repair centre in Exeter.

The new centre is the first in the South West, complementing the existing network of repair centres across the UK. The opening of Exeter Solus is a continuation of Aviva’s strategy to support its motor insurance customers by increasing the number of motor claims managed from start to finish.

Located at Sowton Industrial Estate, the 20,000 ft2 site will create 24 jobs, ranging from vehicle technicians and consultants to customer care roles.

Over four million people have now received their spring covid booster from the NHS just ten weeks after bookings officially opened as part of the latest vaccination campaign.

Local homebuilder Barratt David Wilson Homes is delighted to announce that it has raised more than £70,000 for its two chosen charities of the year, Hospiscare and Children's Hospice South West (CHSW), during their 2023/2024 fundraising campaign.

The team’s efforts included a variety of fundraising events such as a golf day, a bingo night, a bake-off in the Barratt offices, and a glittering gala dinner held on 17th May. PC George House, based in Exeter city centre, was Highly Commended in the Neighbourhood Beat Manager of the Year category. The officers received certificates to mark their achievements.

With the latest research from The National Lottery Community Fund [1] revealing an enthusiasm for volunteering among UK adults, Ansvar Insurance is urging charities and organisations in Devon to prioritise the safety and management of their volunteer programmes.
