Waste removal tradesman narrowly avoids jail for blighting Devon countryside

A waste removal tradesman who blighted Devon countryside with 2,000 tons of rubbish – then set fire to it – has narrowly avoided jail.

The Environment Agency prosecuted Edward Donovan, of Churchill Drive, Crediton, for a range of offences after he turned part of an elderly land owners’ farm at Spreyton into an illegal waste site. It was here he dumped waste he collected from commercial businesses across central and east Devon as EDS (Ed Donovan Services).

Donovan pleaded guilty to charges under the Environmental Protection Act at Exeter Magistrates Court, which included...

Free power tool forensic security marking in Exeter

Event Date:
16/07/2018 - 8:00am to 2:00pm
Venue:
Jewson, Kestrel Way, Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter.

After being successful in receiving Proceeds of Crime Act funds I'm looking at holding free power tool forensic security marking on Mon 16th July from 8am onwards at Jewson in Sowton.

The reason i'm doing this is after the high number of reports of power tools being stolen around Exeter and the surrounding areas. A lot of these tools are high value and cost the owners a lot of money to replace.

I'll be doing this marking with our Crime Prevention officer. After a bit of research it was decided that Jewson's has a high foot fall from trade people who we're trying to target....
