Four Seasons Home Improvements launched in 2016 with just two employees, the company now employ over forty staff and are currently recruiting.

This financial year Four Seasons have a forecasted revenue of over £9million, adding jobs to the local economy from their headquarters in Sowton. Tracie Bell head of communications said: “It’s been amazing for us to grow so fast. Our staff are all local and we couldn’t have done it without the excellent talent here in Exeter”. “Our success has been down our high quality of workmanship, word of mouth is clearly as powerful as ever”.

The full line-up for both days of Chagstock Festival 2018 has now been confirmed.

More than 50 acts including the likes of Imelda May, Buzzcocks, Show of Hands, King King and The Correspondents complete another fabulous bill for this boutique not-for-profit event supporting Devon Air Ambulance Trust, held on one of the UK's most beautiful festival sites.

Wainwright prize-winner Hugh Thomson will be continuing his UK theatre tour this summer at the Exeter Phoenix in Exeter on July 5th, revealing tales of his British ‘South-American adventure’, a hike inspired by the age-old tradition of being accompanied by a pack mule.

Exeter based schools’ tour operator, STC Expeditions, has been awarded Travelife Certification – an internationally recognised scheme dedicated to driving sustainable practises in the tourism industry.

Too many people being let down, says Citizens Advice Exeter

Leading local advice charity Citizens Advice Exeter, has today released its annual advice trend statistics for the year ending 31st March 2018.

The charity has helped 10306 people directly with advice and information last year. The overall advice trends, compared to the previous year, were as follows:

Welfare benefits Overall, the charity saw a 13.5% increase in welfare benefit enquiries. The main changes being:

• 90.0% increase about support with council tax • 24.2% increase about employment and support allowance • 23.1% increase about housing benefit • 16.3%...

Intriguing graffiti appears on the wall of Exeter military base

A graffiti artist has been at work in an unexpected place - the high red-brick wall surrounding Exeter's Wyvern Barracks.

The graffiti has appeared on the otherwise featureless wall along Topsham Road, near the main gates.

But this isn't an attack of hostile vandalism on the important military base. The graffiti artist, Max Nettleton from Exeter College, was invited by the Barracks' Commanding Officer to decorate the wall using removeable paint, to publicise the big event taking place there at the beginning of July, ‘100 Years Behind the Red Brick Wall'.

Team Mi-space complete 145-mile cycle challenge and raise £15,000 for prostate cancer

Mi-space employees have conquered the two-day, 145-mile cycle challenge, Football to Amsterdam 2018, smashing their £10,000 fundraising target for Prostate Cancer UK along the way.

At the beginning of June, intrepid staff from Mi-space, AJ Eaton, Matt Howells and Sam Heritage, along with teammates from Exeter City Football Club and other partners, travelled to London to start the first leg of the cycle that ultimately ended with the team triumphantly crossing the finish line in Amsterdam.

Double award wins for property developer

Two site managers for Exeter-based property developer, Burrington Estates New Homes, have received the prestigious Pride in the Job Award by the NHBC (National House Building Council) in recognition for their outstanding performance to the construction industry.

Gary O’Gorman, Site Manager at Notre Dame in Plymouth, has been recognised for his efforts on the premium development of just six luxury homes. Shaun Marsden, Site Manager at Trispen Meadows in Truro, has been recognised for ensuring high standards throughout the build programme, which consists of 85 new homes.
