Ahead of its much-anticipated new store opening on 10th May 2018, home furnishings retailer IKEA will be bringing the “Wonderful Everyday Tour” to Exeter and the wider region, giving residents and visitors the chance to experience the little things in life that make the everyday more wonderful. YMCA Exeter join Exeter City Council in pilot work experience programme

Six young residents from YMCA Exeter were invited to spend a time a day at the Civic Centre to pilot a new programme which aims to introduce homeless people into employment at the Council.

The Christian youth charity, who have existed in Exeter since 1846, provide services in Supported Accommodation, Training and Employment, and Health and Wellbeing.

The residents from YMCA Exeter, who have all experienced homelessness, were given a tour of eight different City Council departments including, Environmental Health, Tourism, Economy and Open Spaces.

Exeter Red Coat Guides celebrate 30 years!

Exeter’s Red Coat Guides celebrate their 30th anniversary with the launch of their new Summer Tour Programme. The new programme includes a brand new ‘Oddities & Curiosities’ tour highlighting the odd, curious and unexplained aspects of Exeter’s history from Celtic times to the Blitz. Also new for 2018 is an evening Historic Quayside tour taking place every Wednesday evening at 7pm. Exeter City came from behind to beat Cambridge United 3-2 at the Abbey Stadium in Sky Bet League Two.

After falling behind to a Jabo Ibehre goal in the first half, the Grecians rallied to level through Jayden Stockley's header.

The home side then went in front again after a wonderful finish from George Maris, but after Matt Jay scored his first senior goal for the club, Jake Taylor was on hand to round off the comeback late on to ensure the Grecians keep up their hopes for automatic promotion.

Excavations in Fingle Woods to unearth secrets from a distant past

New excavations at an ancient woodland site between Monday 9 April and Saturday 21 April could unearth secrets of its 3,000-year-old Iron Age history.

The Fingle Woods project – led by owners the National Trust and Woodland Trust charities and made possible made possible thanks to £730,000 of National Lottery funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) – will carry out an archaeological excavation at Wooston, home to an internationally recognised Iron Age Hillfort, Wooston Castle. Exeter contestants wanted for TV dating show

The production company who make the hit ITV show, Dinner Date, is looking for single men and women in the Exeter area to take part.

You don’t need to be an amazing chef to take part, you just need to be single and up for a blind date.

At the start of each programme a singleton is given five three-course menus to choose from, each put together by a potential date eager to make an impression.

The guest will pick three dinner dates purely on the basis of which menus they prefer.

Over the three nights they'll meet the people behind the menus, going to each date'...

Sellers will be welcome to set up at 8am with fees £6 per car and small vans, larger vehicles and trailers at £10 each.

The clubhouse will be open with hot food and drinks available all morning and the Bar will also be open towards lunchtime, with guest ales and longstanding favourites on offer.
