More than 250 Ash dieback infected trees are to be removed from alongside the A3052 near Sidmouth and along Station Road in the town.

The trees have to be removed as a precautionary measure to prevent them becoming a safety risk to the public.

From Thursday 18 March to Sunday 21 March, tree removal work will be carried out on Station Road. A public consultation has revealed overwhelming support for the latest proposals for the Teign Estuary Trail.

More than 3,000 responses were received during the consultation held at the end of last year, which focused on a missing link between Newton Abbot and Teignmouth.

A Tiverton boarding school has purchased a new fleet of grounds equipment after securing a six-figure funding package from HSBC UK as part of a wider overhaul of the grounds within the school’s 120-acre site.

Blundell’s School switched banks to HSBC UK in October 2020 and has used additional funding from the bank to purchase a fleet of high-quality grounds equipment, including tractors, a four-meter-long mower and a turf conditioner. Preparations are well underway for the roll-out of the full fibre network through the recently awarded contracts from the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) programme.

Around 56,000 homes and businesses will be provided with access to Gigabit capable broadband by internet providers Airband, Truespeed and Wessex Internet.
