Jurassic Fibre introduces full fibre broadband to Honiton

Jurassic Fibre has announced that Honiton and Taunton will be the next two areas to benefit from ultrafast full fibre broadband.

The extension of the company’s network is part of a pioneering £250 million project to deliver fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband technology to towns and villages in the South West, overlooked by other service providers.

A major United Nations report has revealed the international community has failed to halt environmental decline over the last 10 years. Now, new analysis from the RSPB has revealed the UK’s self-assessment is overly optimistic as high environmental ambitions have not led to real progress being made.

Devon County Show Crafts and Gardens team present 90 stems to former steward to mark her 90th birthday

It was a great honour to be able to present Devon County Show’s former Crafts and Gardens Steward, Joan Mitchell, with a bouquet of flowers to mark her 90th birthday last Sunday 6th September.

Joan, whose history with the Show dates back decades, used to live in Ottery St Mary in Devon before relocating to Taunton in 1994.

Whilst living in Ottery, Joan was an active and committed participant in Devon County Show, stewarding at the show for 36 years when the Show was at Whipton in what was then the floral crafts tent.

Leisure centres set to reopen across the city

Exeter’s leisure centres are set to reopen in the coming weeks following extensive work to ensure they are safe to use.

A phased reopening will take place from September and each centre will be run under the direct management of the City Council rather than being outsourced to a private company.

The plan is to reopen the centres on the following dates, provided the necessary COVID security measures are complete:

Diabetes UK is looking for people from Devon to get on their bikes and take on the UK Wide Cycle Ride this September.
