The pretty South Devon coastal town of Dawlish is readying itself for walkers of all ages and abilities as its inaugural walking festival gets ready to ramble from the start of April.
Lasting ten days and commencing on 1st April, the festival will offer more than 30 walks, most of which are free to join. Walkers are digging out their boots this week with the start of the South West Coast Path Association's 2014 charity event, the Great South West Walks, on Saturday 20 September. Taking place between 20 and 28 September, the event comprises 100 circular walks covering all levels of difficulty and length, with many including themes - each led by an expert guide. An East Devon man has set himself the challenge of walking all 630 miles of the South West Coast Path to raise funds for a charity that helps children in Guatemala.
