Andy Short has been appointed as head chef at ISCA, the restaurant at voco Zeal Exeter Science Park .
He brings his expertise in environmentally-focused cuisine to the property, which is due to open in January 2025 as IHG’s first ever net zero carbon hotel.
Andy joins the property from Salcombe Harbour Hotel, where he was head chef, building on a career which has encompassed hotel and restaurant openings across Northern Europe. A group of pupils from Isca School and St James School took part in a workshop where they designed their school team’s rugby shirt, to be produced and donated by Canterbury, the official kit supplier to England Rugby and the Official Partner to All Schools.
The Canterbury kit design workshops are part of the All Schools programme which was launched in 2012 by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) in partnership with the Rugby Football Foundation.

Bridgwater College students Karl Trunks and Liam Hedaux recently attended a British Colleges’ National training camp after both being selected to represent the national hockey team.
As part of the training camp, the duo represented England in games against Lincoln University and Birmingham University, in preparation for fixtures against the home nations.
Karl is studying the Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship and plays hockey at Taunton Vale Club, whilst Liam is studying Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science and plays hockey at ISCA club in Exeter.
